Mega Borovets Project Gets Go-Ahead

The concept for the construction of Super Borovets has received a green light from the Sofia Governor and the members of the special working group dealing with the mega project. The concept outlining the strategy of development of Samokov Municipality and the resort of Borovets is worked out so as to fit a candidature of Bulgaria to host 2014 Winter Olympics, Sofia district's press office announced on Wednesday. The Council of Ministers is expected to vote on the concept draft on February 17. The mega project Super Borovets seeks to find alternative options of overcoming the seasonal nature of local tourism and extend the capacity of winter tourism in Bulgaria.

Italian businesses have been keen to Bulgarian partnerships at investment-sensitive areas, especially in luxury and five-star hotel building under the project.
