Obrochishte village

 

Obrochishte village is located just 3 km from one of the best organised beach resorts in Bulgaria: Albena and is only 10 km from the historic coastal town Balchik. 30 km from the village is city of Varna with its international airport. Obrochishte is a significant part of the holiday property area Balchik-Albena – Obrochishte – Rogachevo - Kranevo. Situated next to the main road Varna - Albena on the slopes of 2 high hills East of River Batova. There is a daily bus service (5 times a day) from Dobrich to Varna, with a bus stop at the centre of Obrochishte. Also, available are private shuttle minibuses every half hour to both cities.
The population of the village is 2,000 people most of the young people, who are mostly employed in the nearby resorts and tourist establishment.

 

Many Bulgarians and foreigners (mostly British) own holiday homes here, some of them are living permanently in the village.
The 3 football stadiums, which belong to Albena beach resort, are hosting a number of international tournaments. Apart from the primary school, there is a secondary school as well as a sports school for young football players. Many local amenities are available here, lots of small restaurants and cafes, food and general shops (working 7 days a week).
Recently the ‘Beautiful Bulgaria’ project invested funds in the restoration of the local Christian Orthodox Church and the Monastery.
The Municipal projects for the next 2 years include building of local waste drainage system. The village is completely supplied with water, electricity, telephone lines and cable TV.
